what is gain?
gain is the amplified volume of an audio signal, if you apply positive gain, K.O.–SIDEKICK will increase the level of your audio. applying negative gain will decrease the level of your audio.
if your incoming audio needs a little more volume, try adjusting the gain!
gain example
a signal before and after gain is applied.

what is pan?
pan is the position of incoming audio. changing the pan allows you to place an audio signal on the left or right side.
used subtly, pan can create a better feeling of space in your mix, or used dramatically, it can be used to introduce an element to a live mix.
pan example
a signal panned all the way left and right.
use it to make drums punchier and vocals stand out in your mix!
compression pushes down any loud portions of incoming audio while bringing up the overall volume, allowing you to reduce dynamics and add more punch.
compressor
a signal before and after compression.
Eq, or equalisation is used to adjust the balance of frequencies in an audio signal. it can be used to accentuate or balance certain parts of a sound.
turn up bass frequencies to add more thump or remove them entirely to create space for another signal’s bass frequencies.
eq example 1
a signal with bass frequencies accentuated and high frequencies removed.
eq example 2
a signal with bass frequencies removed and high frequencies accentuated.
