17.1 introduction
the bootloader in OP-1 is called te-boot. it loads and runs your OP-1 firmware, and is also used for firmware update and factory reset, as well as for certain hardware tests and diagnostics.
17.2 access te-boot
to access te-boot do the following:
  1. make sure OP-1 is off
  2. disconnect any usb cable and wait three seconds
  3. hold the COM key while powering up


17.3 firmware update
  1. access te-boot
  2. press 1
  3. connect OP-1 to your computer using the usb cable. the OP-1 will appear as a removable disk on your computer
4.  copy the firmware file
     to the removable disk
5.  eject the removable disk
6.  press the COM key
the latest firmware can be found here.
note: if it doesn't work then please try using different usb cables, as well as different computers if possible.

17.4 function test
  1. access te-boot
  2. press 2
  3. follow the on-screen instructions
17.5 factory reset
  1. access te-boot
  2. press 7
  3. follow the on-screen instructions
note: all user content will be removed.
OP-1 will recreate its original file structure and reboot in tape mode when finished.
17.6 format internal drive
  1. access te-boot
  2. press 8
  3. follow the on-screen instructions
note: all user content will be removed and firmware will need to be reinstalled.
